Alabama corrections officer who escaped with an inmate has died in hospital
A former Alabama corrections official Vicky White has died from injuries sustained
After she and her escape prisoner Casey White were arrested in Indiana earlier on Monday.
The woman was admitted to the hospital earlier for self-inflicted gunshot wounds following being arrested after a pursuit that took place in Evansville, Indiana.
The injuries she suffered appeared to be "very serious," the Wedding reported when she was hospitalized.
The law enforcement personnel did not fire shots according to the Sheriff Rick Singleton of Lauderdale County, Alabama, where the couple -- who aren't related -- escaped on the 29th of April.
Prior to the chase, security officers spotted Vicky White exiting a hotel wearing a wig on the back, as per US Marshal Matt Keely.
Then she along with Casey White got into a vehicle and left.
The authorities continued to monitor them until a pursuit started, which ended with the US Marshals task team member driving a vehicle into the Cadillac they were both in.
The car was damaged and then it rolled over, he claimed. Casey White was driving the vehicle, according to US Marshals, but Wedding had earlier informed the media Vicky White was the driver.
